Drawing a Blank… February 17, 2012

I’ve been drawing a bloggy blank for weeks now….Give me a topic to ramble about I’ll yammer on for hours, but give me a blank piece of paper and say write and I’ve got nothing…In fact I usually just end up with a sheet full of doodles. I don’t know how you guys do it, come up with new, amusing, entertaining posts almost daily.

My brain is full of random thoughts flowing though my head at a million miles an hour. Random ramblings, rants, lists, religious thoughts, thoughts about loved ones, pointless thoughts, deep thoughts, thoughts about what I need to do, celebrity gossip, flashbacks, thoughts about TV shows and movies, my two cents on all the news happenings, song lyrics….The wheels are always turning…Then there’s my day, it’s always filled with humorous & or jaw dropping kiddo shenanagins. Not a day goes by that someone doesn’t get covered in mud, syrup, soap, toothpaste, or someone doesn’t UFC their brother, beat up a wall, trash the house, roll in fingerpaints, color themselves with Sharpies and nail polish, fingerpaint in butter…something….but none of it seems blog worthy…

So when I sit down, I’ll babble out a few lines of jibberish, sometimes a few paragraphs, then I draw a blank….if I even get that far. Half the time I stare at a blank screen just wondering ‘what to blog about’….and Why do I it? Drive myself crazy over drawing a blogging blank….because I really do enjoy blogiging…I enjoy sharing my ramblings……I just ………..hmm….drawing another bloggy blank……{See what I mean}………Peace out……………I’ll be back, don’t worry, next time with a complete thought I promise 😉 ………

I was blog stalking reading through some friends’ blogs the other day and I ran across a great post at BloggingObsession (http://www.bloggingobsession.com/2011/11/you-might-be-autism-parent-if.html).

I really the #YouMightBeAnAutismParentIf hashtag, it reminds of the old Jeff Foxworthy ‘You Might Be A Redneck If…’ cassettes I’d listen to as a kid. I honestly don’t think living with autism is a bad thing, I have to admit I get so sick of all the whining and griping about how much autism parents hate their lives and how much it all just sucks….it doesn’t…I promise…but that’s another post in itself….Sorry I tend to get off track ridiculously easy…anyways, I think this hashtag is a great way to vent, laugh, and realize it’s not that bad..

• #YouMightBeAnAutismParentIf you know that while meltdowns happen we must teach our children to function in the real world and therefor meltdowns are met with a, ‘I know you’re mad, it’s okay to be mad, but go be mad in your room and come out when you’re done’…followed by 30 minutes of shenanagins…(taking kiddos back to room, grumpy children, slamming doors)…It honestly amazes me…if when I was a kid I got sent to my room for acting an ass…a room with a TV, DVD, toys…I would have been happy to go to my room lol

There are so many great #YouMightBeAnAutismParentIf tweets and quotes floating around out there…these were just a few a mine….the list could go on forever, and I’m sure some things non autism parents can relate to as well, and some of the things on my list no one can relate to but us…that’s the thing with autism, no two cases are the same. Did She Just Go There…Oh No She Didn’t! Wait…Maybe She Did… August 10, 2011

Blogging…It’s sort of new to me. I’ve had this blog for a while now but am just really starting to use it….This brings me to my question?? Censoring myself…What do I want to post, do I want to go there, so to speak, on certain, maybe controversial topics? My answer..Yes and no…with a little I don’t know thrown in…

Those who know me in RL know where I stand on issues that are important to me. I’d never not defend my views; however do I want to throw certain things out there?  Not too sure yet honestly…I’m a big believer in ‘If you wouldn’t say or do it in front of your spouse, you shouldn’t do it period’, but he knows my thoughts. Most we agree on, when and if we don’t, we know how to agree to disagree…That’s the thing….the online world doesn’t seem as quick to agree to disagree, or even disagree respectfully….they can be as mean, rude, nasty… not that I can’t take it, it’s that I’m not sure if I care to…make sense? Blogging should be fun right? Plus, like I said before, I’m new to blogging, I’m not trying to run off readers (Stupid…maybe, but the thought sill crossed my mind).

And not every post will be on a touchy subject…I love to see the happiness, find the simple joys, and celebrate the small victories..and fill you in on all of it…

If I hold back my beliefs, views, thoughts, etc it doesn’t really seem fair. Isn’t the point of blogging to connect with those similar, share stories, vent frustrations? Then again, I’m never trying to offend, and I don’t want to spend every post defending my thoughts…or do I? I guess the more discussion, and different views, the more I’ll learn too. I’m always open to seeing things in a new light…just please, I’m begging you, be polite…tell me you think I’m wrong, challenge my views, just don’t be nasty…we are all adults here…right?  Most importantly, come back and visit soon! 😉
